Claire Orth

Hi! I'm Claire. I'm fourteen and I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil to a sheet of paper... Or at least I like to imagine I have! Ever since I was little I've loved to draw things the way I see them in my head and I have just recently discovered my love for character design. Sometimes, I like to set my pen and paper down, pick up a needle and thread, and bring some of my many designs to life in a more feelable way than paper. I spend many hours of my day bent over my projects and listening to my favorite music. The rest of my day consists of schoolwork, hanging out with my younger siblings, and taking care of our little flock of chickens.

Emma Orth

Hello! I'm Emma and I'm the one behind the crochet hook and/or knitting needles. For my eighth birthday, I was given a book entitled -- wait for it -- Knitting. From this book, I taught myself to knit and never turned back. I have since taught myself to crochet, embroider, and sew as well as to work with leather. During the day, I work for my aunt and uncle caring for their adopted daughter who was born with a sever mental disability. I go through a day-in-the-life with her, assisting her in every day tasks that most of us can do on our own. My main prerogative is keeping her safe, as well as teaching her to do these essential tasks -- hopefully -- on her own one day! I have also recently been appointed my church's Children's Ministry Coordinator, but I hope to be working at Thistle and Nine full time very soon.
